Arvand Saman Kish Drilling Services Company’s initial optimization project, completed in 2011-2012 for Iran’s National Drilling Company in the Kish gas field, focused on enhancing drilling operations for 12 1/4″ and 8 3/8″ holes. The results demonstrated a remarkable 100 percent increase in the Rate of Penetration (ROP). Arvand Saman Kish Drilling Services Company optimized drilling operations in Clusters A and B of the Kish gas field. In part A of the project, Arvand Saman Kish Drilling Services Company provided optimization services for four wells. The results of these wells, when compared to those drilled by the contractor, are noteworthy.
Arvand Saman Kish’s optimization of drilling operations resulted in doubling the drilling rate and conserving three drill bits in the considered wells. For instance, the 12 1/4-inch well B004 in the Kish gas field, drilled by the esteemed client (National Drilling Company), had an average drilling speed of 3.1 meters per hour and required seven drill bits. Under Arvand Saman Kish’s optimization services, the same hole in wells A05, A04, A03, and A02 achieved an average speed of 6.58 meters per hour, a 120 percent ROP increase, and saved three drill bits. This improvement in ROP and reduced drill bit usage significantly lowered the client’s project costs.
