Following the successful completion of the Kish gas field project and the excellent outcomes achieved, the National Drilling Company of Iran, our esteemed project client, extended our drilling optimization services to their larger project, Phase 14 of the South Pars gas field. This marked one of the most significant drilling optimization projects in Iran. The project delivered such favorable results that it outperformed records held by international companies, which we will elaborate on.

Arvand Saman Kish’s drilling optimization service led to a 100 percent increase in ROP and reduced project costs. Additionally, our engineering team, utilizing technical knowledge, designed an exceptional drilling bit. Specifically, the KMD1663 drilling bit, developed in collaboration with KINGDREAM, was designed for drilling the Surme formation. This drill bit achieved a remarkable record, drilling 1039 meters in one run with an ROP of 20.75 meters per hour, surpassing the REED International Company’s record. This project also shattered international drilling companies’ speed records, exemplified by deep well 10-SPD-14C, with a 62-degree deviation from the well’s vertical axis. Under Arvand Saman Kish’s optimization services, it reached a remarkable drilling speed of 14.32 meters per hour, drilling 2385 meters in 166 hours, surpassing results achieved by companies such as Schlumberger and Baker in the same field.

For a more comprehensive analysis of the results, we categorized the wells drilled under Arvand Saman Kish’s optimization services into deep and shallow wells. The outcomes reveal an increased ROP in all shallow wells. Additionally, the time required to drill a 12 1/4-inch hole in these wells is significantly reduced.

In deep wells, the use of Arvand Saman Kish’s optimization service led to enhanced ROP and reduced project costs. For example, in well SPD14C-10, economic savings of $7 million were achieved in drilling costs. On the following page, the drilling rates for deep wells in Phase 14 of the South Pars gas field project are compared, highlighting improvements across all our wells.
